Ma quali sono le caratteristiche del ballo pantomimo e come interagiscono fra loro gli elementi che lo compongono? E inoltre, chi sono i suoi protagonisti, al di là dei nomi a tutti noti di Gasparo Angiolini e Jean-Georges Noverre?Da questi interrogativi prende le mosse il volume, che intende concentrarsi sullo sviluppo del balletto d'azione italiano in un confronto costante e necessario con quanto accade anche nel resto d'Europa.
