Die Studie zeichnet die großen Linien der Erforschung der Intonation im Deutschen und Italienischen nach und unterzieht ihre Ergebnisse einer PrĂŒfung an einem umfangreichen Korpus aus deutschen und italienischen AlltagsgesprĂ€chen. FĂŒr den Sprachvergleich wird ein ĂŒbereinzelsprachliches Kategoriesystem entwickelt. Als (funktionale) Vergleichskategorien werden sieben handlungslogische Kategorien vorwiegend aus dem Bereich der GesprĂ€chsorganisation definiert. Als Beschreibungskategorien dienen die Töne eines als phonetisches Beschreibungsinstrument rekonstruierten ToBI-Systems. FĂŒr die Analyse werden Äußerungspaare gewĂ€hlt, in denen Sprecher eigene BeitrĂ€ge oder BeitrĂ€ge der GesprĂ€chspartner wiederholen oder geringfĂŒgig modifiziert reproduzieren, bei denen die grammatisch-lexikalische Information also sehr Ă€hnlich oder identisch ist (intonatorische >Quasi-Minimalpaare intonatorischer Verfahren
