Little Rock Number 1
The Daily Question for Getting Rich & Staying That Way Forever
If youād like to protect your financial future, get rich, become free, and always be financially safe, then this is the most important question youāll ever need to ask. You can ask it at the end of each day before you lay down for bed. You must answer yes to this question, or you are at risk.
That question is: Did I build any equity today?
For many of us, when we step back from our day and reflect, we will see that we have not built any equity with our actions. We will see we have exchanged time for money. We will see we have spent our most valuable resource of time, for something that is so readily exchangeable.
Money.
I truly donāt get why a human heart would want to trade their most valuable resource so easily without building equity. Money isnāt everything. Thatās why you shouldnāt spend your most valuable resource to get it.
Every day that you wake up to work, you must be building equity or building towards having equity.
What is equity? Put simply, equity is ownership in something that can produce cash or be sold without your direct time on a day-to-day basis. Having equity is having an asset that provides for you and your family.
It is not that hard to build equity.
Think about this. Most of us have spent 10-plus years learning how to be an employee. If you spent even one year learning how to build equity, youād know how to do it. Itās not hard; it is simply a matter of training.
Itās a matter of building a different brain. Itās a matter of learnable skills. You can learn these skills. Donāt let anyone tell you otherwise.
Think about the difference between building equity each day and not building equity and how that difference would affect your life. The compound effect of building equity every day is the key to security. Thatās why the rich keep getting richer.
My business friends and I build equity every day. You can join us. This book will show you how to build equity every single day for the rest of your life.
Little Rock Number 2
The Cardinal Rule of Successful Entrepreneurship
Before we begin, you mustāand I mean, mustāunderstand the most critical rule of wildly successful entrepreneurship. Break this rule and screw yourself. Follow this rule and become wildly rich.
Iāve met entrepreneurs who earn over ten million per year become proud and break this rule, only to get hammered for it.
This rule may seem foreign at first, but this rule eliminates all of my fear around making money. You will understand it by the end of this book. And youāll be richly rewarded for it.
Here is the rule: We do not get to decide what works.
Thatās.
It.
When you realize that all you have to do is listen, youāll wonder why you didnāt do this years ago.
If everything crumbled to the ground, I would not fear because I would simply go out into the world and listen deeply to the pulse of what works and create wealth around that, trusting that something would emerge. Too many force their own ideas on markets or people only to become frustrated, fail, and give up.
Blaming others. Like idiots. Ignoring this rule.
Wealth and freedom as taught in this book are not about guessing what works or coming up with an idea like Facebook or Craigslist. Or Facebook meets Craigslist.
It is about listening.
This sounds simple, but itās rather difficult. As you read the pages of this book, youāll start to understand this rule. And if you ever find yourself trying to be smarter than this rule, or smarter than the people you are serving, swallow your pride, open your heart again, and listen.
I still forget this rule. I think we all do from time to time. If you ever catch me trying to be smarter than you, you have my permission to shout, āS-Y-P.ā
Swallow.
Your.
Pride.
Then Iāll remember to open my heart again and start listening.
