Das Werk befasst sich mit dem sogenannten Once a trader always a trader-Prinzip im Rahmen des Grundsatzes restriktiver Staatenimmunität, nach dem sich ein Staat, der sich auf die Ebene der Gleichordnung begeben hat an den dort geltenden Regeln grundsätzlich festhalten lassen muss. Erörtert wird nicht nur die rechtliche Herleitung dieses Prinzips, sondern auch dessen Reichweite. Hierzu liefert der Autor ein neues Abgrenzungsmodell, das zunächst einen Zurechnungssachverhalt identifiziert und sodann anhand einer Zurechnungsformel bestimmt, ob im jeweiligen Einzelfall der Schutz restriktiver Staatenimmunität zu gewähren ist. In diesem Kontext wird außerdem die Emission und Restrukturierung von Staatsanleihen dargestellt.
