Geburtstags des deutschen Albanologen Prof. Wilfried Fiedler einen Überblick ĂŒber die aktuellen Forschungsfelder der Albanologie in den Bereichen Sprachwissenschaft, Geschichtswissenschaft, Ethnologie und Medienwissenschaften. Dabei wird von Forschern aus Österreich, Deutschland, Frankreich und Albanien besonders die Wechselbeziehung von Wissenschaft und Ideologie in den kommunistischen Systemen Albaniens und der DDR kritisch beleuchtet und als Fallbeispiel die deutsch-albanische Expedition von 1957 mit einem interdisziplinĂ€ren Ansatz vorgestellt.
