Anhand ausgewĂ€hlter niederlĂ€ndischer Druckgraphiken des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts analysiert die Studie unterschiedliche visuelle Konzepte von Wahrheit und verfolgt dabei die Leitthese, dass die jeweiligen Kupferstiche und Radierungen gerade anhand der Veritas -Figur die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einer Visualisierung des Abstraktums 'Wahrheit' sowie die spezifische WahrheitsfĂ€higkeit der Graphiken ausloten. Die Dissertation arbeitet damit die kulturhistorische Relevanz der Druckgraphik als zentraler DiskurstrĂ€ger im Kontext der politisch-religiösen Krisen heraus und legt das kontinuierliche Experimentieren der KĂŒnstler mit dem Ă€sthetischen Leistungsvermögen des Mediums offen.
